WebView2 Runtime: https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/webview2/

GET STARTED
1. Right-click the ZIP and choose Extract All. Keep the whole extracted folder.
2. Open Murmur.exe. Do not run it from inside the ZIP.
3. Allow desktop microphone access in Windows Settings > Privacy & security > Microphone.
4. Choose an installed language, then click Start dictating. Click again to finish.
5. If no native speech engine is available, choose Use Windows voice typing (Win + H).
This Microsoft feature needs internet. Stop it using the Windows toolbar, then save.

SHORTCUTS AND INSERTION
F5 works while Murmur is running, even if its workspace is closed to the tray.
Ctrl + Alt + Space is available as an alternative in Settings.
Enable insertion in Murmur Settings to paste native dictation into the original field.
It will not paste into password fields or a changed destination.
Dictation with Windows voice typing inserts directly using Windows's own toolbar.
Right-click Murmur's notification-area icon and choose Quit to close it completely.

PRIVACY
Saved writing is local to this PC, under %LOCALAPPDATA%\Murmur.
Native installed Windows speech recognition runs locally. Murmur stores no audio.
Windows voice typing is optional and uses Microsoft's online speech recognition.
There are no accounts, API keys, analytics, or paid subscriptions in Murmur.

EARLY BUILD
This Windows port compiles successfully but has not had a live Windows microphone
and insertion test yet. Speech availability depends on your Windows language setup.
It is unsigned; your browser, antivirus, or Windows SmartScreen may show a warning.
Changing platform does not guarantee warning-free downloads. No security settings
are disabled or bypassed by Murmur. Only run a download you trust.
